Notice Taken on Water Shortage in Islamabad by Chief Justice of Pakistan, Saqib Nisar

Islamabad : Earlier, the hearing of Islamabad 's water shortage in the Supreme Court was held today, on which Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar took the problem of water scarcity seriously and said that short term, Mid Term and Long Term should be made. A report was presented by Secretary Attorney, which says that Islamabad needs daily 158.2 million gallons daily. While water supply provided is very less in Islamabad .

The representatives said that Rawalpindi cantonment board has our remaining payments and another institute has more than 2 billion remaining payment, due to which we are not offering full water . Chief Justice expressed rage and said if we don't have rain how we will be able to full fill the needs of water supply, Prime Minister should do a meeting with the cabinet, we will see on this problem in a meeting. The quantity of water in the Simli and Khanpur Dam have reached to a dead Point. Why not call the former Chief Minister Punjab to name the names of negligent people. The half people of Islamabad are deprived of water , the problem of water should be taken seriously, provincial, parliamentary, and local governments sit in the political office and discuss it on this issue and suggest a solution to me, said Justice Saqib Nisar .
